CARLI LLYOD - OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL 2008 & 2012

Carli Lloyd is currently playing on the US Women's National Soccer team. The story of Carli Llyod is that she is from Delran, played on local soccer teams and Delran High School, played at Rutgers University and made the US National team. She made the 2008 US Women's Olympic team and scored the winning goal in the Gold Medal game. In 2012 she made the Olympic team but LOST her starting position just as the games were scheduled to start. She was BENCHED. Carli handled this adversity  by rededicating her effort and focus. Her replacement got injured during the Olympic games. She got another chance. She scored the tying goal and then the winning goal in the Gold medal game against Japan who had beaten the US in the World Cup games the year before.  Carli is a true role model.
