SJMCA Presents Alliance Award to Christopher Rowen student at Rowan University - (5/17/2007)

At the SJMCA 35th Annual Golf Outing, Christopher Rowen a student at Rowan University's College of Engineering was presented with a check for $1,000 for the 2007 Alliance Award.

Christopher Rowen is a student of mechanical engineering at Rowan University. In his undergraduate work he took an interest in alternative energy sources, focusing on the development of fuel cells for small applications. Next year Christopher will be enrolled in Rowan University’s graduate program for mechanical engineers. For his graduate study, Christopher will be analyzing the performance and emission effects of bio-diesel on Newark Airport’s ground support equipment. Last summer Christopher was an intern with First Energy (Jersey Central Power and Light) where he gained invaluable experience working with both field engineers as well as the management. In the future Mr. Rowen plans to finish his graduate work and find a job working with alternative and clean energies.
